Gregory Mayro, MD

Professor

Dr. Gregory Mayro is a hospitalist, or physician that specializes in managing the care of patients within the hospital.  Dr. Mayro practices at Good Shepherd Penn Partners where he serves as the Medical Director of Hospital Medicine and co-chair of the Clinical Emergencies Committee.  He is also a member of the Division of Hospital Medicine Search Committee along with appointments to the GSPP Medical Executive Committee. He also has an appointment at the Philadelphia Veterans Affairs Medical Center where he works with medicine residents and medical students. Dr. Mayro joined UPHS in 2012 and currently serves as a Professor of Clinical Medicine with interests in patients’ safety and quality improvement, minimizing diagnostic error, recognizing and addressing sepsis and optimizing palliative care. 

Dr. Gregory Mayro earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College, and completed a medical residency and Infectious disease fellowship at Temple University Hospital.
