Subha Airan-Javia, MD

Associate Professor

Dr. Subha Airan-Javia is a hospitalist, or physician that specializes in managing the care of patients within the hospital. Dr. Airan-Javia practices at the Hospital of University of Pennsylvania.  She joined the Section in 2007 and currently serves as an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine. As a double board-certified hospitalist and informaticist, Dr. Airan-Javia has devoted much of her career to bridging the gap between clinical workflows and technology. During her tenure at Penn, she developed Carelign - a digital handoff tool that quickly spread through Penn Medicine services. Her goal is to provide clinicians with digital tools that support their workflows so they can shift their focus away from administrative tasks and back to providing the highest quality of care to their patients. 

Dr. Airan-Javia earned her medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Baltimore, and completed her Internal Medical residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
