Zamia Diaz is an Advance Practice Provider that specializes in treatment of patients within the hospital. Zamia practices at the Penn Presbyterian Medical Center and serves as a Physician Assistant taking care of internal medicine and medical oncology patients. Zamia is a Manager of the APP Hospitalist Team. Her clinical interests include: discharge process/planning, pain management, and interprofessional communication. She is involved in the APP week task force.
Zamia Diaz earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Swarthmore College and worked as research assistant in the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics before obtaining a second Bachelor's in Nursing at the University of Pennsylvania. After several years of bedside nursing in a medical-surgical unit, she obtained her Master’s in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care from the University of Pennsylvania.
When not at work, Zamia enjoys her time off reading fiction literature, staying active through exercise and caring for her family.
